  11. The ÒGatekeeper ExtrasÓ consist of this file, a Control Panel
  12. named ÒGatekeeper Privilege MoverÓ, a text file named ÒGatekeeper
  13. Privileges.txtÓ and an application named ÒGatekeeper ApplicationÓ. 
  14. These items are not necessary in order to use the Gatekeeper
  15. Anti-Virus System, but are included because they may be of use to
  16. some advanced users Ð probably system administrators.

  18. The primary component of the extras is the Gatekeeper Privilege
  19. Mover (GkPM).  GkPM allows you to move privileges between
  20. Gatekeeper and text files in much the same way the Font/DA Mover
  21. allows you to move fonts and DAs between the System and suitcase
  22. files.  If you are familiar with the operation of the Font/DA
  23. Mover, GkPM should seem very familiar.

  25. GkPM is particularly useful when you need to move privileges
  26. between one version or one copy of Gatekeeper and another.  It also
  27. provides a convenient way to distribute updates to the default
  28. privilege list.  One thing to remember, though, GkPM only works
  29. when used with a matching version of Gatekeeper.  For example, GkPM
  30. 1.2.8 will only work with Gatekeeper 1.2.8.  The text files created
  31. by GkPM, however, can be read by any version of GkPM, so they are
  32. version independent.

  34. The ÒGatekeeper Privileges.txtÓ file is a text file for use with
  35. GkPM which contains the complete default privilege list included
  36. with the Gatekeeper 1.2.8 distribution.  You can use this file
  37. simply for reference purposes, or to restore the default privileges
  38. should anything ever happen to the privilege list in your copy of
  39. Gatekeeper.

  41. ÒGatekeeper ApplicationÓ is a program that makes it possible for
  42. users of systems prior to 7.0 to use the Gatekeeper Privilege
  43. Mover.  The reason pre-7 users canÕt open GkPM in the Control Panel
  44. desk accessory is that GkPM needs a much wider window than that
  45. allowed for by the Control Panel DA.  System 7 users will probably
  46. not find much use for Gatekeeper Application, since they can open
  47. GkPM like any other control panel.  Refer to the ÒAboutÉÓ box for a
  48. slightly more complete explanation of the applicationÕs purpose and
  49. workings.
